About the Artist:
Bella LaMontagne is an interdiscplinary collage artist. Bella's conceptual process can be defined by the idea of Naturphilosophie, which explores relationships between nature and the mind. Through the medium of collage, Bella breaks down the binary between humans and the wider biotic community. She does this by combining fragments of folklore, mythology, and poetic reflections, guiding viewers through a thought provoking visual narrative that intends to remystify the world around us.
Bella has been a Finalist in the 9th edition of the Boynes Artist Award: Young Artist Category. Her work has been published in issues of the Red Ogre Review, the Indianapolis Review, Looky Here Magazine, Kolaj Institute's journal, Folklore Collage Society, and others. She has participated in the Folklore and Collage residency as well as the Collage on Screen residency hosted by Kolaj Institute. Her work has been seen nationally and internationally, including: A' the Arts(Sanquhar,Scotland), Slip Gallery(Seattle,Washington), Kaleidoscope Studios(Brooklyn,NY), and others. Bella is based in the hills of Western Massachusetts where she lives with her partner and two beloved cats, Oscar and Pierre.
